Zebra Coaching with Aneesh de Vos

About Aneesh

I am a specialist trauma therapist, trainer, and supervisor, working with adults across the UK and internationally. With over a decade of experience in trauma-informed practice, my work is grounded in compassion, somatic awareness, and a deep respect for each person’s unique story.

About My Approach

My therapeutic approach combines Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), therapeutic coaching, and somatic awareness. Together, these create a holistic framework that helps you understand how trauma is held – not just in your thoughts, but in your body too.

CFT supports those struggling with shame, self-criticism, or the persistent feeling of not being enough. Therapeutic coaching bridges reflection with meaningful action. Somatic work helps reconnect you with your body as part of the healing process.

I do not aim to “fix” you. My role is to walk alongside you as you make sense of your experiences and discover new ways of relating to yourself and the world.

A Little More About Me

As an autoethnographer, I'm fascinated by how lived experience — particularly that shaped by culture — shows up in the therapeutic space. I co-produce the Community Connections podcast, exploring trauma in an accessible and conversational way. I also research trauma and menopause, believing strongly in the importance of therapeutic support for women and others navigating this life stage. Outside of work, I enjoy wandering in nature with Morris the dog, and occasionally sending a reassuring message to my daughter that I am indeed alive — just happily distracted by doing very little.

What to Expect:

First Session — We get to know each other. You share what feels comfortable, we discuss your challenges, hopes and questions, and you assess whether working together feels right.

Ongoing Sessions — We explore how experiences affect your thoughts, emotions, relationships and sense of self. Using CFT, therapeutic coaching and somatic awareness, we work through patterns such as self-criticism or feeling stuck – building self-compassion, emotional regulation and resilience.

Therapy is always collaborative. You guide the pace; I support the process.
